Apart from Hyderabad, the company planned to open its 'Reliance Fresh' stores in five more cities of Andhra Pradesh, namely, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Warangal, Visakhapatnam, and Guntur by the end of 2006.⁷ RRL said that it was planning to expand its operations across India by using the insights gained through these pilot stores. Raghu Pillai, President and CEO (operations & strategy), RRL, said, "Our plan is to open more stores across different geographies, and eventually have a pan-India footprint by 2010-11.

Based on the customers' feedback from the first set of pilot stores in Hyderabad, which would help the company fine tune its offerings, we plan to expand to top 70 cities across the country in the next 18 to 24 months."⁸

After Ahmedabad, the company had plans to establish retail outlets in West Bengal and Punjab, followed by Delhi and Mumbai. Apart from 'Reliance Fresh,' RRL was also planning to launch other retail formats like 'Reliance Fresh Plus', where people would get apparel, consumer electronics, FMCG items and medicines, in addition to fresh fruits and vegetables¹⁰ and a format for retailing groceries and condiments called as 'Reliance Select'.¹¹

Apart from 'Reliance Fresh,' RRL was also planning to launch other retail formats like 'Reliance Fresh Plus', where people would get apparel, consumer electronics, FMCG items and medicines, in addition to fresh fruits and vegetables and a format for retailing groceries and condiments called as 'Reliance Select'. Organized retail in India was in a boom phase in 2006.
