• A lot has been talked about e-governance infrastructure in different papers. So, we will come to the second point i.e., ‘access’. Access is of vital importance. It should be well spread out to everyone’s reach.

• A broadband connectivity is what is needed to be available to all the towns and villages, irrespective of size and reach. The access should be very convenient to use. Convenience here means in terms of distance and time. The distance from home to the workplace should not be too long. Then comes the affordability aspect, i.e., it should be affordable so that the poorest of the people can also avail it. Last but not the least, the access should be dependable, especially in the rural areas of the developing countries.

• Next thing is the ‘content’. Just having content won’t serve the purpose until and unless the content is of relevance to the needy people. Unfortunately, it has been seen that the economically weaker sections are devoid of any direct usage of technology. It is important to promote the usage of local languages in computers so that the general people can access it comfortably. Communicating affordably is one of the most essential ingredients in order to narrow down the digital divide. Though, there have been some major steps taken in order to bridge the digital divide gap.
