Growing power consumption in Asia, increasing dependence on fossil fuel with growing oil consumption and increasing oil imports that indicate dependence on foreign oil reserves for power generation are the major factors that guide Asia Pacific region in developing renewable energy sources to attain self sufficiency and sustainability in power generation.
